The WDL 1B was introduced in 1988 and is the largest, most modern, state-of-the-art, BA-6 category airship available anywhere in the world.

Customer's corporate logos can be painted directly onto the envelope and gondola of the airship and onto all the ground support vehicles.

At night the customer's corporate logo or brand message is displayed on two giant illuminated screens called the NightSign. Each of these screens is 33 meters long and 8 meters high. There are a total of 9,000 multi-colored lights installed directly onto the side of the airship. The NightSign is controlled by an on-board computer in the cockpit.

A well-trained team of 20 people are required to operate the airship. The crew consists of two airship captains, one crew chief, two mechanics, and fifteen crewmen who ground-handle the airship during landing and take-off.
A total of 14 vehicles (vans and cars) are required to support all ground operations.
